Can not connect to servers

I have downloaded the launcher and installed origins 1.8. I can connect to a server to the point of seeing myself in a playerlist, but when i click ok to join i get stuck at the main arma II menu with no messages telling me that anything went wrong. I have tried waiting at the playerlist for around 10 min then joining with the same effect.

same here. Do I need to enable the '-beta' or not?!?
