Sector B guards at Novi Bor!!
Me again!
I thought I was on a server with no missions (so I could learn quickly on how to fly choppers, find good places to build a base etc etc). There I was after successfully smashing Martins barracks and filling my SUV special with cool loot, everything was going fine and then I see tracer fire, hear the crack of bullets on the panels of my vehicle and the slightly panicked voice of my companion saying, what the f**k!
We both managed to jump out (not sure if the car is wrecked yet) and start getting into the forest on the east. I managed to crawl amongst the leaves puffing up around me with gunfire, to a tree and relative saftey, my companion however... died *again*.
On my map, it tells me that these are sector b guards, but arent they on Salvation Island?
When will these buggars despawn so I can log in and see if my car is gone forever with some very nice loot!
Also, if I am on a server with no missions, what other non-missions could I run into? I have checked the server list and there is no description on there as to whether or not there are missions.
Thanks again
Magnum PI

Sometimes the sector b air patrol land or crash so they end up free roaming round the map :/
Its very rare, but happens more when restarts are disabled or there are long periods between restarts. The air patrol will run out of fuel and land. If you ever do see a random sec b chopper that has landed, DONT get in it and try and fly it, They blow up!!
They dont tend to stay in one place, they will free roam the map until there is a restart. However are you sure there is no missions as there is a mission in Novi Bor (Novi Bor Siege)?
Do you have a PDA to check?

No, I havent got a PDA unfortunately.
Where is a place I can look to see if this server has missions or not... the server list doesnt show it, only as Crisis+ PVE only
If I log on today, Im making the assumption that they wont be there anymore and as I am hidden behind a tree I dont want to walk out to be shot again?

When you log onto the sever, is there no welcome text that lists sever settings? otherwise unless admin have listed it in the sever name, or in the welcome text then as far as I know there isnt. They may have posted a post on here about the sever. I will quickly pop into the sever myself and see if I can spot any settings

No, there was no server settings - only a statement about PvE, no stealing etc etc

From what I have found out from another player on that sever is that missions are active and a new mission spawns every 15 minutes, and as for difficulty I was just told "not that hard" best thing you can do is find a pda and just make sure you keep out of area's that have active missions

Confirmed, they were gone, car was generally ok... 0% hull but used some scrap metal and a wheel and off I went with all my loot still in the back
Damned missions though - how many missions are there, and how can I tell which missions my server might use?

Missions are random so you never know what missions are going to be playable, however if your sever is set to load a mission every 15 minutes then I'm guessing that ALL missions are playable before the sever restarts. They wont all be active unless a player heads into the mission area activating it
