Is there a special trick to increase the Medic 1.1 painkiller skill faster? i ate like 1000 and gave as many to my mates and still got a minimum of progress. Any help?

I believe it takes a lot (50+) to get your painkiller skill up, and will only work if the player is in need of them. I get shot/hit and then take them.
