My friend and I just built our very first Nested Buildings. Now, is there a way to close the house/latch when you are inside? (NOT locking it!) Since this way, it seems as if the house must be always open when u try to access the gear inventory, which makes it very unsafe...

No only the lock option. But the lvl 2 house and 3 house is very safe.
