DayZ Origins Population

What happened to the Origins community (population)? I scroll down the server list (
http://originsmod.info/serverlist.php) and see two or three servers with over 25 players. This is not good my friends!!! I think the inability to play the game via commander really hurt the population. I'm curious to hear what other players think made the population drop signifigantly as well as what other players think would help Origins bounce back.
Best, Rig

gotta say mate. totally agree with ya. Commander was a great place to find servers and an easy to use installation process for the casual gamer.

I don´t like the decision too. Commander was good for the big audience, now you have to be really interested to play origins and know where to look.

Rig I understand your frustration.Join western players on the new international server. Good community and proper admin. It is full of the veteran players from the beginning of dayz mod days.
Your more than welcome.

Well said..I posted a thread a couple of weeks ago regarding server numbers and dayz commander...this is such an excellent game that it is frustrating to see the numbers decline since the gamersplatoon crap...and that coupled with dayz commanders Josh gaining 300 pounds from eating countless donuts....he has been unable to get off the couch and update the mod in a timely manner which led the team to start their own serverlist...of course that is great, but the dayz commander hub was a central place for players to bump into..accidently stumble into....or come across Origins and then quickly download it to see what it was about...this loss has been very bad for Origins...but the mod is so good hopefully numbers will shoot back up in spite of the exposure for the mod being torpedoed...i have had to relocate to INT005 and since the data wipe the numbers have been positive

I use dayz launcher now since dayz commander went poop. I always see alot of different servers with a good amount of players, but not like other mods.

I have been out of gaming almost a year now and played many different DayZ mods the year before until I stumbled upon Origins. Currently I am building a new gaming rig and can't wait to get back into Origins. In my down time I've been watching different streams on the genre and have been following the H1N1 hype to some extent on reddit. Nothing I have seen or read on the other genre games have compared to my lengthy experiences in Origins. Despite DayZ Mods glitches it had been hands down one of the better gaming experiences in my long years of FPS and MMORGPs. What shocks me somewhat is while I have been reading all the Reddit H1Z1 opinions, stories, good and bad, and people making comparisons to other games in the genre is that almost nobody who has played a DayZ mod either has played Origins or knows it still exists. The type of gameplay that most of the people are saying they want from a survival game is all in Origins. This is an amazing mod that I would hate to see disappear. Every change I get I give props to origins and its team and try to promote it. I wish it was as easy to find as it was on DayZ Commander as it used to be. The gamers out there who want the best "survival" ecperience need to know this mod is better than ever and still kicking ass. Just my thought

Well first off, it's not on commander. Most people who download dayZ do it through commander or that other one PlayWithShit. Second of all, it's still on Arma 2. Most of the population has moved onto Arma 3 and many many many players refuse to come back to Arma 2
