Armour (How does it work?)

Post by JimmyDazzler »

Hi,

Just wondering how the Armour mechanic works in the game?

- Does it just increase your overall hit points?
- Does it only affect shots to the chest?
- If i wear a vest with 2 plates it it (say 50%) will i be able to take a couple more shots?

Thanks

% numbers for a vest with 4 plates.

kevlar for the police vest
steel for the military vest
ceramic for the special forces vest

this info might be outdated...

Yes, i would guess, that the damage of all bullets which pass the vest before hitting you will be reduced by the %age mentioned on the poster, if equiped with 4 plates.
If equiped with less than 4, maybe you have to multiply it:

So damage modifier of the special forces vest: 0.55 x 0.25 x amount of plates

Don't know, if an empty vest offers at least some protection.

Can I also ask in this thread, does wearing say the crash helmet, or helicopter pilot helmet, provide any protection from low-calibre headshots ? Or are the new clothes purely cosmetic ?

I believe the helmets do provide protection, SWAT being the best.

Helmets will save your life for sure. As to how the body armour works. Its like how positrac works on a 72 plymouth... it just does. (Glad i finally found an excuse to use a joe dirt reference on here  )
