So I've been following origins mod for about 2 years now and I even once hosted my own server which was ranked #1 for 8 months. I'm sure you guys heard of it (Gaming Cabin). I saw all the nonsense with BI's Legal team and I was wondering whats the current state of the mod? Are you guys able to provide updates or will you have to release server files? Is there more hosts in the future that will support Origins mod ?
It's just super expensive to run origins mod on a non dedicated server and you get access to more freedom when running one in the first place. I understand you don't want people to ruin their gaming experience by adding a million vehicles but sometimes that is what happens. There is plenty of servers on Epoch that run different setups and its awesome finding those that do a balanced server.
Anyways if some of these questions can't be answered I understand and I am sure you guys have been pestered for a long time about it anyways. Just figured i'd ask.
Thanks,
Flosstradamus

Dude don't murder G Spots. That's nasty
About the current state of the Mod:
I'm sure there are Epoch servers that are balanced. Kudos to their admins.
But still, you see Origins servers with "MAX LOOT AND VEHICLES" in their title. And we know that those servers are exactly the sames as any other Origins Server.
If those admins could actually change the server files and DB....

About the current state of the Mod:
- The devs never stopped working on the mod.
- BI tried their best but wasn't able to persuade the Origins Team to release their files (because Origins was created before the new License).
- There have been small updates (including the migration from Game Spy to Steam).
- The next update is almost ready and it should be expected very soon (I hope).
- You can rent servers in LagFreeServers.com.

Re: So what now ?
Well I appreciate the responses I just wish there was more to rent from other then just LFS. No offense or anything but the servers from them haven't been exactly top notch. I pay the same amount through a Dedicated company in new york with superb quality and a great support team. I just wish it was a little more professional for the amount that I have to pay is all.

Re: So what now ?
From my personal experience LFS is doing a very good job.
Re: So what now ?
LFS are doing great, this problem with Steam and BETA patches isn't at all. The servers seem to lag way much more and even when ppl talk in side theres a lot of hiccups and freezes. Sometimes i even get random closed yellow connection which i've never had before. they really need to update to the latest version, and i hope it'll come with the new origins update.

I see what you did there!BadMotherFucker wrote:Dude don't murder G Spots. That's nasty

Also have not had any issues with my server from LFS. It is only a 30 player one though.
Re: So what now ?
i have also noticed that the severs have been doing small lag spikes. Its clearly the sever since everyone goes through it. More red/yellow chains that risk DCing. I do not claim to understand why, just also noticed:) Over all LFS has been good for us (like we have a choice lol). I was thinking it was something in the patch, we did not have this issue before the new content.
